Kenai Community Library Policies
The library is guided by the following policies and procedures.
Library Cards and Borrowing
To check out materials at the Kenai Community Library, a library user must have a library account in good standing. The library aims to make materials available to as many people as possible. As a result, it sets limits on loan periods, renewals, and the number of materials a person may check out. Loan periods and renewal eligibility vary by item type. Kenai Community Library cardholders library card may check out up to 25 items on their library card.
Library Fines and Fees
As of October 22, 2020, the Kenai Community Library no longer charges late fines on overdue materials. This policy applies only to overdue items. Fees for damaged, stolen or lost items will still be charged to cardholder accounts (please refer to the Library Card and Borrowing guidelines).
Code of Conduct
The Kenai Community Library is for everyone’s enjoyment. For the comfort and safety of patrons, volunteers, and staff, and the protection of Library property, patrons are must follow the Code of Conduct policy.
Children's Library and Safety Policy
The library offers many programs and services that encourage children to develop a love of books, reading and learning. For the protection and well-being of children who enjoy libraries, children under eight (8) years must be continually attended by a parent or a caregiver while in the library.

Internet Safety and Electronic Devices
The library provides access to the internet and equipment. It is the individual user’s responsibility to demonstrate judgment, respect for others, and appropriate conduct while using those resources.

Volunteers
Volunteering for the Kenai Community Library can be a rewarding and exciting experience. Volunteer time, energy and goodwill are invaluable assets to the Library because volunteerism enhances the Library’s ability to fulfill its mission by providing opportunities for direct public participation in library services. Volunteerism also strengthens and deepens the Library’s relationships throughout the community. Volunteer opportunities offer citizens a way to contribute to the community, fulfill personal goals, achieve a sense of satisfaction, and learn more about the Library.
