Proctoring Services
The Kenai Community Library provides test proctoring by appointment for distance-learning students, professional certifications, and other approved exams.
Key Details
- Appointments: Accepted based on staff and room availability. Please request at least 1 week in advance by emailing kenailibrary@kenai.city or calling the library (907-283-4378). Provide your name, contact info, institution, requested date/time, test length, and any special instruction.
- Fee: $25 non-refundable fee, payable before the test.
- Hours: Monday–Saturday during regular open hours. Appointments are scheduled according to staff availability. The test must end at least 15 minutes before closing.
Student Responsibilities
- Student must contact school or instructor for all arrangements and preparation.
- Student must present a government-issued photo ID on the test day.
- Please arrive 15 minutes early. Late arrivals may result in shortened or canceled sessions.
- Bring only permitted materials (calculators, notes, etc.) as authorized by the testing institution.
- Student must use personal laptop or electronic device to administer online test.
- Arrange childcare; the testing space must remain quiet and free from distractions.
Limitations
- Library staff is unable to provide one-on-one assistance or observation. If proctoring requires constant supervision, the library will not be able to proctor the exam.
- The proctor will follow the institution’s instructions for timing and materials but cannot provide technical assistance or content help.
- The library is not responsible for tests lost in the mail or for technological failures during online exams.
- The library is unable to provide a computer with Lockdown Browser. If the student does not have one and the program is needed, the library will not be able to proctor.
