Mission

To maintain and improve the infrastructure of the City of Kenai at the highest level possible, efficiently, promptly, and proactively.

Functions & Responsibilities

The Public Works Department is responsible for a full range of duties including supervision and coordination of Building Maintenance, Shop, Streets, Water and Sewer, and Wastewater Treatment Plant.  In addition to maintenance and capital improvement projects, providing infrastructure support, overseeing the City Dock, safety, and maintaining streetlights.

A DRAFT version of the City of Kenai Street Design Standards Manual is available for public review below. The City will be holding an Open House on Monday, April 13th, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for those who would like to ask questions or provide comments. Following public input, the Manual may be considered for incorporation by reference into Kenai Municipal Code, subject to review and approval by the City Council.
