Notice of Vacancy - Planning & Zoning Commission

The City of Kenai is accepting applications for the Planning & Zoning Commission. Applicants for this position must reside within City limits or own a business within the City. The Planning & Zoning Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and holds special meetings as needed.

Interested individuals may submit an application by December 10, 2025 to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, if no applications are received by December 10, 2025, applications will continue to be accepted until the vacancy is filled. Applications are available at Kenai City Hall, 210 Fidalgo Avenue, Kenai, AK 99611 or on the City website http://www.kenai.city.

Pursuant to KMC 1.85.010(b) the successful applicant shall be required to file a City of Kenai, Report of Financial and Business Interest within 30-days of appointment. For additional information please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 907-283-8231.

Notice of Vacancies - Advisory Commissions

Applications are being accepted for Commission vacancies to be appointed in December for the following:

  • Airport Commission
  • Beautification Commission
  • ​​​​​​​Council on Aging Commission
  • Harbor Commission
  • Parks & Recreation Commission

Kenai Commission members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council.

If you are interested in serving on a Commission, please submit a completed application to the City Clerk, 210 Fidalgo, Kenai, Alaska, 99611 or cityclerk@kenai.city. Deadline for application submission is Tuesday, December 10, 2025.

All boards and commissions are created by the City Council and consist of seven members who are nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council from applications submitted to the City Clerk. Appointments are for three year terms.

Members of the public who would like to be considered for a commission can complete the application using one of the options below.
