The purpose of the Harbor Commission is to advise the Council and Administration on issues involving City harbor facilities and tidal or submerged lands owned by the City.  Duties include reviewing and providing recommendations on any master plans for the development of harbor or port facilities for the City; acting in an advisory capacity to the Council and Administration regarding matters related to City harbor facilities, tide or submerged lands; making recommendations to the Council and Administration relative to the care, control, and development of tide and submerged lands; submitting annually a list of the recommended capital improvements; reviewing all City leases of City-owned tide and submerged lands and making recommendations to the City Council and Administration; providing information and recommendations as requested by the City Council and Administration; advising and providing recommendations to the Administration as requested on the qualifications for a Harbor Master.

Meetings of the Harbor Commission are held on Monday following the first City Council meeting of every month with the exception of  January, July, October and December. Meetings are at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Additional meetings are scheduled as required to address time sensitive topics.
