Kindness Kits TEST Page

Our Know Your Neighbor: Kindness Kits are an exciting way for parents and children in our community to encourage opportunities for discussion and exploration about the beauty of diversity. These kits are suggested for ages 3-6 and can be checked out for three weeks. Each kit is color-coded, focuses on various themes, and contains the following:

  • Non-fiction books
  • Fiction books
  • DVD and CD
  • Explorative item(s)

Place a hold or come to library to see what we have on the shelves. Kits must be picked up from and returned to the Kenai Community Library. Kits must be returned to the service desk or via curbside pickup. One kit per family please.

Available Kits:

Red Kit: Expressions

  • Guide
  • Explore your creativity through music, art, and dance with this kit designed to demonstrate how various cultures express themselves.
  • Comes with musical instruments, pretend people, books, DVD, and suggested activities.

Orange Kit: Family

  • Guide
  • Use this kit to discuss the variety of family structures in the world.  Also enjoy taking a family road trip with the interactive toys provided. 
  • Comes with Family Blocks, family car, pretend people, books, DVD, and suggested activities.

Yellow Kit: Learning and Growing

  • Guide
  • Time to get ready for school!  Learn about schools around the world and how everyone is welcome.
  • Comes with a school bus, food set, pretend people, books, DVD and suggested activities.

Green Kit: Our Neighborhood

  • Guide
  • Get to know your neighborhood and homes around the world in this interactive kit.
  • Comes with Friends and Neighbors Game, sorting neighborhood, pretend people, books, DVD, and suggested activities.

Blue Kit: Who We Are

  • Guide
  • Get to know yourself and others in this interactive kit!
  • Comes with pretend food, Children of the World puzzle, pretend people, books, DVD, CD, and suggested activities!

Purple Kit: You and Me

  • Guide
  • Discover our physical differences and similarities!
  • Comes with a memory matching game, racial cognition puzzle, pretend people, books, DVD, CD, and suggested activities!
