Kenai Parks and Recreation Master Plan
In 2025, the City of Kenai hired Corvus Design to help create a 10 to 20 year Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The City wants community input to shape this plan, so it will host several workshops and meetings and send out different surveys to help guide this plan.
- A kickoff workshop was held on April 29th at 6:30 at the Kenai Chamber. It was a workshop to provide initial input on the development of the Master Plan.
- If you missed the kickoff workshop, no worries, there is an online version we would love for you to fill out. The online version will be active until May 20th. Click HERE to complete the survey.
-
The next step will be the development of a community survey based on the feedback from the workshop. That will be release to the community during late summer and early Fall.
What is a master plan?
A Parks and Recreation Master Plan is a long-term guide for how a community manages its parks, trails, open spaces, and recreation programs. It helps decide what to build, fix, or improve based on the community's needs and what they can afford.
What it usually includes:
- Input from the community
- A look at what parks and facilities already exist
- Plans for upgrades or new projects
- Ideas for funding and partnerships
- A timeline for getting things done
