COMING SOON! Summer Reading 2024
Join us for our 2024 Summer Reading Program for all ages and abilities! This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”
- Registration begins May 16th!
- Visit the main desk to sign up and pick up your Summer Reading materials. Everyone is invited to join.
- Join us for the Summer Reading Program BOOK BINGO Kickoff Event at the library on Thursday, May 30th, at 3:00pm. The first 100 people to come to the event will receive a free ticket to a Peninsula Oilers’ game! Win books, kits, and more.
- Come to our programs all summer long! Every event can count toward Summer Reading Challenges.
- Everyone is invited to the Summer Reading Grand Finale Party at the library on Thursday, August 1st at 3:00pm.
- Our community goal is to read 3,963 hours during the summer.
How does the Summer Reading Program work?
Babies and Toddlers
Even the youngest in our community can join in on the challenge! Parents and caregivers, come by the front desk to pick up an Early Literacy “On-Track” Challenge. Read read 50 books this summer with your child. Pro Tip: Attending a Wee Read or Pre-K Storytime counts toward your goal!
Children
Sign up and receive a Passport to Adventure. It includes everything you'll need to know about the program. Your goal is to collect stamps by reading and attending programs, which can earn you a spin on the Prize Wheel, a Grand Prize raffle ticket, or an exclusive button!
Teens
Pick up your SRP 2024 punch card, read and attend programs, and win scratch tickets. Scratch tickets can be anything from instant wins to instant losses!
Adults
Our Book Bingo challenge is back! Complete up to 5 rows on your bingo card to earn tickets for prize drawings, and stay tuned for upcoming programs.
