The City of Kenai boasts the most amazing Open Spaces with views that cannot be put into words.  You must come see them for yourselves!

Kenai Field of Flowers

Meandering trails wrap around this small parcel of Kenai Airport property adorned with wildflowers.  Seeded in the spring, the field transforms into a wildflower display each fall providing visitors with amazing photography backdrops.

North Beach.Kenai.July

This community beachfront area provides access to the north beach of the lower Cook Inlet. It is the most popular destination in Alaska the month of July due to our personal use  fishery. There is a large paved parking area and camping is permissible during the dip net fishery.  Fees do apply during this time.  

Other times of the year this beach is a local favorite to walk, fish, roast hot dogs, fat bike, fly a kite...

Kenai South Beach

Kenai South Beach sits at the mouth of the world famous Kenai River.  Accessed at the end of Cannery Road, this site is gives you the absolute view of Kenai's "Ring of Fire".  On a clear day it is possible to see up to 5 volcanoes for this beach.

Kenai Wildlife Viewing Platform

Kenai residents are used to looking for wildlife as we drive Bridge Access Road.  Moose, caribou, coyote, eagles, cranes, geese, owls... this list goes on and on.  We are also accustomed to counting how many volcanoes we can see at one given time or if Mt. Redoubt (last erupted in March 2009) is smoking or not.  This viewing platform give you the perfect view!

Millennium Square

This sweet area of open space is quickly becoming a community favorite.  Home to the rugby tournaments, soccer practices and now Kenai's Fall Pumpkin Festival held each October.  Right across the parking lot from the Scenic Bluff Overlook and the Kenai Senior Center.

Scenic Bluff Overlook

This is Kenai's favorite "lunch spot".  On any given work day you will find Kenaiit's sitting in their vehicles, eating lunch, listening to local radio and taking in the scenic view.  The landmark birdcage-style gazebo is a trending wedding venue.  LIFE IS GOOD!

GreenStrip

This is a large community park in downtown Kenai with many amenities which make it a popular venue for birthday parties, community events, fundraisers, and more.  The covered shelters, playground, and permanent restroom facility are all nestled between an extensive open green area, the community gardens, and the Steve Shearer Memorial Ball Park. The ball park includes four adult softball fields, another permanent restroom facility, and a concession stand.

Bird Viewing Platform

This elevated viewing platform is brought to you through a combined effort of ConocoPhillips Alaska Inc., Kenai Watershed Forum, Keen Eye Birders, the City of Kenai and the State of Alaska DNR & USF&W.
