Vehicle for Hire Licensing Requirements

A City of Kenai License is required to operate as a Vehicle for Hire within the City of Kenai.

All City of Kenai Vehicle for Hire licenses expire on June 30 of each year and must be renewed annually to continue operating within the City. To ensure your license is issued or renewed prior to June 30, it is recommended that applications be submitted no later than June 15 of each year.

Issuance & Renewal Requirements
  • License Fee - $250 for the first vehicle plus $100 for each additional vehicle.
  • Current State of Alaska Business License
  • Kenai Peninsula Borough Tax Compliance Certification Form - Issued by the Kenai Peninsula Borough and signed by authorized Borough personnel.
  • Certificate of Workers' Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance - Insurer must list the City of Kenai as the Certificate Holder.
  • Vehicle for Hire, Vehicle Identification Form - Must be completed for each vehicle operating within the City of Kenai.
 
Vehicle Changes

If a licensed vehicle is replaced during the license year, a new Vehicle Identification Form must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office before a replacement windshield license sticker will be issued.

 
Window License Stickers

After your application has been reviewed and approved, you will be notified when your vehicle window license stickers are ready for pickup.
