Volunteer

Our volunteer program is currently operating in a limited capacity.

If you would like to receive an e-mail when our volunteer media team has availability, please call us at 907-283-7353 or email us at animal@kenai.city letting us know you'd like to be added to this list.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. If you are pregnant or if you have any condition that might compromise your immune system, you should consult with your physician about your intent to volunteer at the shelter. Your doctor may want you to limit or stop your volunteering, or they may advise you of specific precautions.

 Volunteer Orientation Process:

Fill out the Volunteer Application and submit a copy of a state issued ID

Schedule an in person informal interview and sign a volunteer guide acknowledgment

Pass the background check

Attend your online training seminars

Volunteer and make a difference!
