Get a Library Card

To check out materials at the Kenai Community Library, a library user must have a library account in good standing and present their library card or a valid form of photo identification. A resident of the area may obtain a free library card by visiting the Kenai Community Library and

  • Filling out an application
  • Presenting a photo ID 
  • Verifying their current mailing address

Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign the application and present identification and proof of current mailing address. The parent or legal guardian must have a Kenai Community Library card in good standing.

Customers may also register online to expedite their application and receive limited and temporary access to library services.

 

Checkouts

  • Check out books, movies, audiobooks, CDs, magazines, STEM kits, board games, laptops, and more!
  • Permanent cards can check out up to 25 physical items and 10 items through the Alaska Digital Library.
  • Most items are due in 3 weeks.
  • Renew books and audiobooks up to 3 times and other items once (unless on hold for another borrower).

Renew and Place Holds

  1. Call us with your library card number ready or visit our online catalog.
  2. Click “Log In” in the top right corner of the webpage.
  3. Enter your entire library card number and PIN.
  4. To renew, click the “Checkouts” tab, check the boxes next to the items you wish to renew, and click the blue “Renew” button.
  5. To place a hold, search for an item, click on the yellow “Place Hold” tag, and select a Pickup location. Learn more about our curbside pickup.
