Curbside Pickup

In a hurry? Not able to come in to pick up your items? The Kenai Community Library offers two pickup options for your convenience:

Hold Lockers 

Place holds online or call, and pick your items up at the library.

When placing holds

  1. You must have an email or mobile number on your account. If you’re not sure, ask a staff member to check for you. You’ll need your library card.
  2. Online -  Choose Kenai Hold Locker as your Pickup Library.
  3. In person -  Let us know that you would like to pick up your hold from the hold locker.
  4. Maximum of 10 holds per Library card.

Holds are checked out to you BEFORE they are placed in the locker. We’ll make sure we place a receipt with your checkouts. That means your checkout period starts when the items are placed in the locker. As a reminder, our checkout period is 21 days for most of our items, but other libraries may have shorter checkout periods. 

We currently do not have the ability to accept returns in the locker. Please use the regular book drop for returns. Hold locker pickups are currently not available for equipment (e. g., Chromebooks).

You will receive an email notification or text when your items are ready for you to pick up. You can:

  1. Enter the 5-digit code using the tablet OR
  2. Open the link on your mobile device and scan the QR code
  3. Use the SMIOTA app (app can be found in your app store)

Items will be held for 72 hours in the locker. This is different from the usual 7 days hold. Please contact us if you need additional time. 

Curbside

Place holds as normal online or call, and pick your items up at the library.

When contacting us, please have the following information ready:

  • First and last name
  • Library card number

When placing holds:

  • Maximum of 10 holds per Library card.
  • Items placed on hold will not be immediately available: you will be notified when your items are ready for pickup .
  • Items are held for pickup for 7 days.

When arriving at the Library:

  • Please use the drive-thru for curbside pickup. 
  • Call (907) 283-4378 or (907) 283-8201. We'll ask you for your library card number.
  • A staff member will retrieve your items and bring them outside.
