Drop Off:

The drop off permit is available at all of the locations. The price is $11.03 per calendar day to drop off or pick up participants in the personal use fishery. You may operate 1 vehicle within the personal use fishery fee areas with a single drop off permit. You may park your vehicle for up to 15 minutes while you load or unload, but the vehicle must not be left unattended. These permits are valid at all locations. You may upgrade a drop off permit to any other permit in the same calendar day and receive $11.03 credit towards the new permit.

Day Use Parking:

Day use parking is available at all of the locations between 5:00am and 12:00am. The price is $22.05 per calendar day. If you arrive before 5:00am you will be required to purchase overnight parking. If you purchase a day use parking permit at 5:00am you will get 19 hours of parking for $22.05 If you purchase a day use parking permit at 9:00pm you will get 3 hours of parking for $22.05. You may park 1 vehicle within the personal use fishery fee areas with a single day use parking permit.  These permits are valid at all locations.

Day Use Upgrade to Overnight Parking:

Day use parking permits may be upgraded to overnight parking for $38.59. This will extend the permit until noon of the following day. If you arrive at 9:00am and purchase day use for $22.05, the permit will expire at midnight of the same day. With an upgrade to overnight parking, the permit will be valid until noon of the following day, for a total cost of $60.64. This is the same fee that would be charged if a person arrived at 9:00am and purchased overnight parking originally. 

Overnight Parking:

Overnight parking is available at all of the locations except the dock. The price is $49.61 and is valid from noon until noon the following day. If you arrive before noon, the price will be $60.64 for the first day and $49.61 for each additional day. If you arrive at 1:00am you will pay $60.64 and get 35 hours of parking. If you arrive at 9:00pm you will pay $49.61 and get 15 hours of parking. You may park 1 vehicle within the personal use fishery fee areas with a single overnight parking permit. Also included in overnight parking is 1 camping spot in designated areas, which cannot exceed a 10 foot by 10 foot area. These permits are valid at either beach location or in the overflow parking areas.

Camping:

Camping is available at all of the locations except the dock. The price is $27.56 and is valid from noon until noon the following day. If you arrive at 1:00am you will pay $27.56 and the permit will expire at noon of the same day. If you wish to remain until the following day you would need to purchase 2 days of camping. The camping spot cannot exceed a 10 foot by 10 foot area. Parking is not included with camping.

Mobile Vendors:

Vendors are permitted at the North Beach parking lot on a daily first-come first-served basis, up to three (3) spaces.  There is no additional parking fees for vendors beyond the Day Use Parking fee of $22.05.  Parking for vendors is located on the first space of each row in the parking lot.  Please have your City of Kenai vendor license posted on a conspicuous place; see our Business Licensing page or contact the City Clerk’s office for more information.  Vendors are not permitted at the City Dock or South Beach parking lot.

Boat Launch and Parking:

Boat launch and parking is available at the dock. The price is $38.59 and is valid until midnight on the day that it is issued. You get 1 boat launch and retrieval, and 1 parking spot for 1 vehicle and 1 trailer. If you arrive at 5:00am you will pay $38.59 and get 19 hours of parking. If you arrive at 6:00pm you will pay $38.59 and get 6 hours of parking. If you launch on one day and wish to retrieve at a later date this will be permitted, but parking is limited to the day it was issued.

Vehicle Definition:

For the purposes of the personal use fishery fee area, a vehicle is a combination of one Primary Vehicle and 1 or more pieces of Axillary Equipment. A vehicle may not occupy more than one parking spot or an area wider than 10 feet.

  1. Primary Vehicle
    1. 1 passenger car as defined in 13 AAC 40.010 (32)
    2. 1 truck as defined in 13 AAC 40.010 (60)
    3. 1 bus as defined in 13 AAC 40.010 (6)
    4. 1 motor home as defined in 13 AAC 40.010 (28)
    5. 1 motorcycle as defined as a vehicle with less than 4 wheels that has a license plate
    6. 2 all-terrain vehicles as defined as a motorized vehicle that does not have a license plate
  2. Axillary equipment
    1. 1 trailer as defined in 13 AAC 40.010 (58)
    2. 1 all-terrain vehicle as defined as a motorized vehicle that does not have a license plate. Does not apply to section 1(f) above.
  3. Vehicle Examples:
    1. 1 car with 1 trailer and 1 ATV
    2. 1 motorcycle with 1 ATV
    3. 1 motor home with 1 trailer
