Water & Sewer
The City of Kenai provides water and sewer services within the water and sewer service area.
Apply for Service
An application for service is required any time a property that is served by water and/or sewer is bought or sold. Some rental agreements also require that tennants sign up for service upon moving into a rental property. The application may be downloaded here, or you may apply in person at City Hall.
The City of Kenai provides water and sewer services to single family residences with a flat monthly fee. Fees for multi-family dwellings vary according to the type of service and the number of units. For a full list of fees, see the Fee Schedule.
Commercial and Industrial Service
Commercial water and sewer services are provided with fees based on several factors including service size, type of business, and whether or not the location is metered. For a full list of fees, see the Fee Schedule.
Hydrant usage is available for a fee of $4.62 per thousand gallons with a deposit for the meter. Meters can be picked up at City Hall.
Connecting new construction to City water and/or sewer service requires a permit from the Building department. KMC 17.10.010 requires than any structure, that will be using water, located within 200 feet of an existing water main to connect.
